Tim Sandusky

Tim joined Giving Tree Capital LLC in 2020 as an Executive Partner and brings strong knowledge of climate technology, policy, and investments having led a portfolio of programs designed to bring low cost renewable energy platforms to market in his career.  This includes his most recent accomplishment of building and improving internal operations to execute a 40 GW pipeline for AES Clean Energy, a leasing renewable energy developer and owner/operator.

Prior to AES Clean Energy, Tim served as Director of Corporate Finance at Community Energy, a national solar and energy storage developer where he was responsible for strategy, capital raising, cash flow forecasting, corporate valuation, and FP&A activities.  At Community Energy, Tim coordinated a platform sale to AES in addition to his management of over $22M in debt deals plus another $20M in commitments.  He is also an expert on project modeling, origination, and sell-side role, having shortlisted and/or awards for 629MW

Tim's expertise also runs deep in finance and strategy from his four years as a management consultant for ZS Associates where he advised biotech clients on commercial strategy and improving operations and his three years at Resolve consulting on public policy in Washington D.C. on sustainability.

Tim graduated with a B.S in Humanities from Messiah College and holds an MBA from Penn State University.

Tim and his wife live in Boulder, CO and are avid outdoorsmen.  Often you can find them either hiking or biking the incredible Colorado landscape.  The Sandusky's are passionate about environmental sustainability, fitness, and nutrition.
